Tech drinks event - group of men talking

Tech Drinks event encourages sharing of ideas, tackling challenges, and overall, staying connected as human beings

Tech Drinks networking event returned to Quay Arts in Newport on Thursday 20th January, attracting over 60 attendees from the Island’s tech sector.

Originally started by Matt Greg (CEO of NOSY) and Lukasz Liebersbach (Innovation and Growth Specialist at Innovate UK EDGE), Tech Drinks’ goal was to create a community where Island residents interested in technology could share ideas and meet like-minded individuals.

Greg: Sharing ideas, tackling challenges, and staying connected
Matt Greg explains,

“Due to the pandemic, we have all adapted our lives even more around technology. Yet, having a Zoom call or an online text exchange is not the same as having a conversation with someone face-to-face.

“Our goal for Tech Drinks is to create a monthly meet-up where the most technology-using residents of the Island can interact in person. Sharing ideas, tackling challenges, and overall staying connected as human beings.”

Monthly throughout 2022
The event took place eight times before the pandemic and is now returning monthly throughout 2022; with strong support from Island sponsors.

This sponsorship allows the organisers to offer a free drink to all attendees upon arrival.
