Ventnor residents will be descending on St Catherine’s Church this evening to hear updates from the Isle of Wight council (IWC) about the Bonchurch landslide and situation with Leeson Road.
The information will be relayed as part of the regular IWC / Environment Agency public meetings about the ongoing coastal defence works along the Eastern Esplanade and Ventnor coastline.
News OnTheWight has been advised that the agenda for the meeting will be as follows:
- 6pm – Introductions and Housekeeping
- 6.05pm – Words from the Mayor of Ventnor, Steve Cooper
- 6:10 – Ventnor Eastern Esplanade urgent works progress
- 6:30 – EA major coastal schemes update
- 6:50 Bonchurch Landslide
- Causes and initial assessment outcomes
- Leeson Road
- 7:15 – Update on Rene Howe Walk (Ventnor Cascade)
- 7:30 – 8:15 pm Q&A from audience (questions will be taken in the order of presentations given) *if they council cannot answer a question they will provide written response with ten days
