It’s goodbye to the Solent Junior Hockey Club and hello Isle of Wight Hockey Club.
Solent Juniors’ manager Koo Janzen has been in touch to shares news that all field hockey clubs on the Island have now amalgamated to become one club. They’ll be known as the Isle of Wight Hockey Club.
Jon and Koo continue in roles
The Solent Juniors’ coach and manager, Jon Milton and Koo Janzen, will continue their role in the new set-up and will be running U12 and U14 girls’ teams and hopefully also an U14 boys’ team (more adult volunteers are always needed!).
Jon Milton will also take on the role of head coach for the ladies’ teams and it is hoped that we will be able to encourage all junior players who are now too old to play in the U14 team, to continue to enjoy their hockey in one of the adult teams!
Junior training will be on Monday evenings at Smallbrook and they’ll be running a minibus from Ventnor Middle for the Ventnor players!
