Another Successful Clearup At Frank James Hospital Grounds

Many thanks to Tanja Rebel for sending through this report of yesterday’s guerilla gardening at the former Frank James Hospital in East Cowes. Thanks also to Robin Harrison for use of the photos. Ed

Frank James HospitalWhat a wonderful day at former Frank James Hospital!

More than twenty people came and worked all day long to tidy up the gardens so that one day hopefully they can be restored to their former glory.

It was lovely to see both young and old working together and having a picnic in the sunshine.

United views on preservation
Everyone – including many passers-by – shared the same wish: That the building and its grounds will be repaired and preserved for future generations.

This is the least that we can do to honour the legacy of the Frank James brothers.

It is a great shame that the owners of the building didn’t show up.

Let’s hope that they finally can get their act together and start to take responsibility for this truly wonderful asset.

The best thing would be if they and the residents of East-Cowes could work together on finding a way forward as this beautiful building deserves nothing less. Come on, we can do it!
