Appeal For Information After Vehicle Crimes In Newport

Police are continuing to investigate recent reports of vehicle crimes in Newport on the Isle of Wight.

Officers are making further enquiries after thefts and criminal damage were reported by motorists living in Collingwood Road, West View and East View.

Number plates were removed from at least six cars parked in these roads sometime during the early hours of Sunday, July 10, 2011.

Police have carried out house-to-house enquiries in the local community and are now making a wider appeal for information.

Anyone who remembers seeing or hearing suspicious behaviour in this area late on Saturday night (July 9) or Sunday morning (July 10) is asked to contact PC Dave Hardie at Newport Police Station by phoning 101 or emailing Hampshire Police Website.
