Appeal For Witnesses After Motorcyclist Seriously Injured

Police Appeal For Information Relating to Woman's DeathPolice are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on Briddlesford Road, Isle of Wight on Sunday.

The incident happened shortly before 9.30pm close to the junction with Blacklands Lane.

Motorbike collides with car
The 31-year-old rider from East Cowes was riding a black Honda motorcycle when he was in collision with a blue Nissan Micra, being driven by a 22-year-old woman from Pinner, Middlesex.

The rider was thrown from his motorcycle onto the driveway of a nearby house. He was taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport where his condition remains serious but not life threatening.

The Nissan driver had minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.

Appeal for witnesses
Anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw either vehicle prior to the crash, is asked to call Sgt Paul Bailey at Shanklin Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting Operation Chambray.
