The feedback we’ve had from Isle of Wight people is, yes, we love Armchair Auditor – it’s amazing to be able to see each and every payment the Isle of Wight council has made over £500 for the last 21 months, but we’d like an easy way for finding the details about supplying company, council service area or expense type.
Up until now, the only way to find any of these was to page through until you found them.
Search added
We’ve listened and Wightgeek has worked his technical mastery (A massive ‘Thank you’ to him), creating a search function that anyone can find in the top right corner of each page of the site. To use it, simply type in the word you’re looking for and hit return, or click Search.
The system will then whizz off and look through the 157 Expense Types, 1,197 Service Areas and 2,440 Suppliers and bring you up a list of each of them that matches your search term.
Related financial details
To look at the details of them, simply click on the name to reveal what the related financial details are, connected to the council.
It’s still got all of the great features that you’ve come to expect, like the ability for you to leave your own thoughts/comments on each and every page on Armchair Auditor.
Even more features!
Wightgeek (the hero that he is) has also added two new great extra features – the ability to save the data to your machine and create a PDF of it.
Save As CSV – this sound mysterious, but isn’t really. CSV stands for Comma Separated Values – all you need to know is that once on your machine, you’ll be able to load this data into your own spreadsheet, complete with column headings, so you’ll be able to do your own sorting or calculations.
Save As PDF – You’d use this if you want to send or print out a page of the information for your own records, or to give to someone else, perhaps by email. Selecting this option produces a well-presented document containing all of the information on the page you’re currently looking at.
