After many years away, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Army Cadet Force is delighted to announce that a new Army Cadet detachment will soon be opening in East Cowes.
Part of Gallipoli Company, the new unit will be known as “6 Troop, East Cowes”.
It will join existing detachments across the Isle of Wight in Newport, Ryde, Sandown, Godshill, and Freshwater, further strengthening the Island’s Army Cadet presence.
Brown: An exciting opportunity
Lt S. Brown, a spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Army Cadet Force, said,
“Plans for 6 Troop East Cowes represent an exciting opportunity to bring new skills and experiences to young people in the area.
“Whatever your future plans, the Army Cadet Force offers valuable opportunities for personal development from a young age, including first aid, navigation, teamwork, communication, and resilience.
“In recent years, cadets from the Island have also completed Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programmes and gone on to successfully join the Armed Forces, Ambulance Service and Police, as well as achieving success in a wide range of other careers.”

The new detachment will parade on Thursday evenings from 1900 to 2100 at Holy Cross Primary School, East Cowes.
The unit will be led by experienced Cadet Force Adult Volunteers from across the Island, who will deliver training and support to all recruits.
