ASLEF and RMT strikes: Your guide to the impending Island Line Service reductions (updated)

The nationwide ASLEF strike today (Friday 12th May) will include SWR’s network-wide depot drivers and train drivers on Island Line.

While this industrial action does not impact the majority of SWR drivers on ASLEF strike days, there are some impacts on the West of England line and suburban routes, because of local industrial action.

There will be no service on the Island Line.

Saturday 13th May
Members of the RMT union will take part in nationwide strike action on 13th May, severely reducing the number of trains and hours of operation.

A reduced service will operate between 0700 and 1900 only and large parts of the network will be closed.

  • A reduced service on the Island Line (hourly)
  • London Waterloo to Windsor via Hounslow – 2 trains per hour reducing to 1 from mid-afternoon
  • London Waterloo to Windsor via Richmond – 2 trains per hour*
  • London Waterloo to Woking – 4 trains per hour
  • London Waterloo to Basingstoke – 1 fast and 2 semi-fast trains per hour
  • Basingstoke to Salisbury – 1 train per hour

Further industrial action
Between Monday 15th to Saturday 20th May the ASLEF overtime ban means an hourly service on Island Line.

The ASLEF strike on 31st May, the ASLEF overtime ban on 1st June and the ASLEF strike on 3rd June will all impact Island Line.

See the SWR Website for more information on industrial action days.
