Ventnor West County councillor, Chris Welsford, has been working hard over the last few months to try and secure an additional cash machine (ATM) for the town.
As many may already know, applications to have an additional ATM at HSBC and a new machine at the Post Office were both refused by the county council.
It was revealed at last night’s Ventnor Town Council (VTC) meeting that Chris has now managed to secure an ATM at the Winter Gardens.
Community service
The machine comes at a cost to the VTC, but will be free for the public to use. It was stated last night that the VTC view this as a important community service and are therefore happy to bear the costs.
Staff at the Winter Gardens were also reported to be happy with the additional responsibility and had received training and advice from the Crime Prevention officer.
The machine will be in action and ready to provide cash as of tomorrow (Wednesday), just in time for the Ventnor Carnival.
The ATM is situated by the Ladies toilets in area just outside the main hall.
