There’s less than two weeks left to catch Babs Gowan’s latest exhibition at Quay Arts if you haven’t been yet.
Having first bumped into Babs at the Wayzgoose Christmas Sale we were really taken with her excellent stoneware and porcelain ceramics.
Her body of work in the Rope Store Gallery (until 3rd March) covers a variety of media, the exquisite ceramics, but also some very interesting and eye catching photographic work.
Babs says of her work, “I love to explore the physical possibilities of the media, echoing geological and natural forces: exposing texture, scarring, holes, folds, protuberances, edges and lines. Clay remembers everything that happens to it. This textural memory fascinates me.”
Well worth the visit. Hopefully there’ll be some pieces left to purchase.
