Regular VB readers will remember our post on Friday night appealing for your best community snow stories.
The reason for the appeal was that BBC’s Inside Out programme, which starts again tonight on BBC1, were filming on the Island over the weekend and got in touch with VB to ask for our help to find local heroes who had helped people on the Island during the snow.
We were in contact with the BBC production team over the weekend and pleased to hear that they managed to film lots of great community stories on the Island. Amoung other things, they went riding with an Island 4×4 driver on Sunday, rescuing people around Alverstone.
Tune your boxes into BBC1 at 7.30pm tonight and you’ll see Jon Cuthill, who you probably know from BBC Radio Solent, hosting.
The production team would like give special thanks to everyone who contributed via VentnorBlog, its Facebook, Twitter account and the “Emergency Information for the Isle of Wight” Facebook to the programme.
