Bear Grylls has become the UK’s Chief Scout, making him the youngest to hold the position.
Raised in Bembridge, Bear has become to many, the epitome of adventure.
When asked why he chose to volunteer he said, “In short, because I love adventure and I love hanging out with good friends. For me this is what Scouting is about.”
Island Scouts
The Isle of Wight has a strong scouting tradition with the movement having been running on the Island for over a hundred years. There are currently 24 Scout groups covering the Island.
The Island scouts will be working closely with the Isle of Wight Music Festival this year, both during it as they raise money for “Give Bees a Chance,” and after as they gather any abandoned tents.
