Beds of Ryde

Beds of Ryde: Isle of Wight bed shop with competitive prices and friendly service

It’s great to know there’s an independently-owned bed shop on Union Street, Ryde.

It brings a lot of advantages as well – not only can you try out the actual beds and get expert guidance on the options, but there’ll be no ferry fares and wasted trips to the mainland, only to find that the furniture that looked great on the Website has now sold out!

Despite the name, it’s not just beds
The shop was opened in November 2012 by Ryde-resident Sandy and doesn’t just sell beds – you can also buy pillows, mattresses and even bedroom furniture.

No worries about having to get it all into your car either, anything can be delivered across the Island for £10 and it’s just £5 if you live in the Ryde area.

Finding a good mattress
The lifespan of a mattress is typically eight to ten years, Sandy told us, after that they lose shape and support.

It’s also said that we spend more than a third of our lives asleep, so a good mattress is well worth investing in.

Given we spend so much time on it, it’s easy to see that a mattress is also one of the most important things we buy for the home, as there’s little worse than feeling tired after a poor night’s sleep.

Personal advice
Selecting a bed is not as simple as you might have imagined – there’s a lot to learn, from memory foam to pocket-sprung mattresses.

Happily, Sandy is willing to give advice on both beds and mattresses, or if you’d prefer you can walk around the shop and try the beds for yourself.

Great range of beds
The Victorian-style Veronica Day Bed is the best seller and available in stone white. There are also divans and children’s beds. Headboards are available in various colours and made from fabric or faux leather.

If you want that extra degree of comfort, mattress toppers could be what you’re looking for, as they give added comfort on top of a firm mattress.

Beside the wide selection in store, you can choose variations by selecting from the new catalogues which Sandy holds, still giving the advantage of it being supplied from the Island.

It is also reassuring to know that the beds are made in Britain.

Factory visits to assure quality
Sandy has even taken the trouble to visit the Kozee Sleep factory in Yorkshire to see for herself.

Beds of Ryde receives a weekly delivery so you shouldn’t have to wait too long.

Competitive prices all year round
If you have a problem you can return to the shop and discuss it face to face. Sandy is pleased to say that she has sold to over 700 happy customers to date.

Many of them have said that they like being able to buy on the Island and Sandy prides herself on offering good value for money.

You’ll not see sales or huge discounts displayed in the shop as Sandy regards these as ‘gimmicks’, she prefers to offer competitive prices all year round.
