It has now been 21 weeks since the rockfall on Belgrave Road in Ventnor and nine weeks since the council said they had instructed Island Roads to remove the debris from the road.
Ventnor residents and businesses have been severely impacted by the fact that Belgrave Road has been closed for five months.
Request for update
OnTheWight wrote to Isle of Wight council this week (as we have been doing on a regular basis) to ask for an update on when Island Roads would begin removing the rock.
We were told that “meetings are underway with contractors”, but that an update won’t be forthcoming until Wednesday 6th August.
The council has previously said the work will take place over the summer and open to pedestrians by the autumn.
