Bembridge Shoreline

Bembridge Primary and Forelands Middle School present Bembridge Shoreline at the Learning Curve Gallery, Quay Arts

Bembridge Shoreline Bembridge Shoreline brings beach art made in Bembridge to the Learning Curve Gallery at Quay Arts.

The exhibition features objects and images as well as documentation of activities that took place during the Bembridge Shorelines Project.

This exciting community arts-based project was initiated by Island artist and Quay Arts Rope Store exhibitor, Gerry Price.

The project was funded by a grant from the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’s (ANOB) Sustainable Development Fund.

The exhibits were made by pupils from Bembridge Primary and Forelands Middle School as well as by members of Bembridge Youth Club, Beavers, Cubs, Rainbows and Brownies. The children learnt about why their local beach is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Each group spent a day exploring the beach and collecting natural and man-made materials to create an amazing range of images and sculptures. These include beach scarecrows made from flotsam and jetsam and bird sculptures made from local clay.

Bembridge Shoreline by Bembridge Primary and Forelands Middle School runs from: Sat 27 Jun – Sat 8 Aug, Learning Curve Gallery, Quay Arts, Sea Street, Newport Harbour, Isle of Wight PO30 5BD
