Who made the final cut
Island businesses The Needles Sweet Manufactory, Grace’s Bakery, The Royal and the Smoking Lobster at Ventnor, Wightwood Pizza, The Garlic Farm and Wight Coast Fossils made the final cut of the show, which will be seen on More4 on 13th June and Channel 4 on 26th June.

The team were overwhelmed at the sheer choice and quality that is on offer here – eventually choosing enough to fill the hour-long show.

Chamber: So many special places of interest
Dan Chamber, co-founder and Creative Director at Blink Films said,

“Filming on the Isle of Wight was such a delight.  So many special places of interest, gorgeous accommodation, and first-class food.

“The only problem we had as producers was how to reduce it to just an hour.  It could have been a six-part series!”

Harriott: Great light, great food, great air
Ainsley Harriott said,

“Great light, great food, great air – fresh air, I’ve never slept so well. You should come to the Isle of Wight, you could have the same experience!”

Grace Dent added,

“Thank you for having us Isle of Wight, it’s been amazing!”

Myles: Only possible due to the continuing support of levy payers
Will Myles, MD at Visit Isle of Wight said,

“I am very excited to see the Best of Britain by the Sea on Monday evening and I am looking forward to the reaction of people when they have seen it too.

“We were very pleased to welcome Grace, Ainsley and the production team to the Island and am very glad at their reaction to the qualities the Island has to offer.

“Visit Isle of Wight is proud to celebrate the Island’s food producers, makers and chefs that make the most of the fresh food from the land and waters around the Isle of Wight, adding to the lists of reasons that make it such an incredible place to visit – it is just a shame that they couldn’t fit anymore in to the hour long episode.

“We are glad to have been able to bring the production crew to the Island. It is only possible due to the continuing support of levy payers, voluntary contributors and our partners through the Wight BID that Visit Isle of Wight can make investments in marketing the Island to the UK and beyond.”
