As readers will remember, Southern Vectis lost the contract with Bestival to shuttle festival goers to and from the ferry terminals, this year Big Green Coach will be providing that service.
However, Southern Vectis will be picking up festival passengers wishing to travel from the festival site to Isle of Wight towns and villages.
Southern Vectis will be operating a shuttle bus between Newport and Bestival every 10 minutes between 0800 and 1900, followed by an hourly service between 1900 and 2300 on Thursday and Sunday, and between 1900 and midnight on Friday and Saturday.
And then on Monday they will operate every ten minutes between 0700 and 1300.
Services from Newport
The following existing Southern Vectis night services will be available from Newport:
- Number 1 (Newport, St. Mary’s Hospital, Parkhurst, Northwood, West Cowes)
- Number 3 (Newport, Godshill, Wroxall, Ventnor, Shanklin, Sandown, Ryde)

- Number 7 (Newport, Shalfleet, Cranmore/Wellow, Yarmouth, Freshwater, Totland,

Southern Vectis buses will also continue to operate all their other regular Island routes, with buses Number 8 and Number 33 additionally entering the Bestival site to drop off/ pick up at the Bestival Shuttle Bus Station.
If you’re planning on driving to Bestival – or use the roads around it – make sure you check out the traffic plan.
