Bestival organiser (& BBC Radio One DJ) Rob da Bank’s has announced that his quest to uncover the freshest Isle of Wight talent will include two brand new categories – Best Island Choir & Best Spoken-Word/Beatboxer – for the first time this year.

Rob took a decision to add these two new disciplines for 2013 after being blown-away by the depth of young Island talent on display at his regular Rob da Bank’s Music Club nights (which happen on the last Tuesday of every month at Quay Arts, Newport, Isle of Wight – free entry to all Island teens).

Talent spotting at Music Club
Rob said today; “My Music Club has been a real eye opener over the past year, with so much great talent coming through the doors. I’ve really noticed that it’s not just that young people want to be in a band or DJ, but that they really just want to get involved with music in any way they can… So we’ve decided to open out the categories a bit – adding in spoken word, beatboxing and even a choir category – which means that we can give even more talented Islanders a chance to be at Bestival , get on-stage and wow people!

“I can’t wait to hear the entries…”
