Big Wight Matter: Help Support Brain Tumour Charity

Whilst we’re on the subject of worthy causes please put this one in your diaries and consider supporting the charity, Brainstrust.

Big Wight Matter: Help Support Brain Tumour CharityAt the end of the month a weekend jamboree is planned to take place at Brighstone Holiday Centre.

The weekend is intended to raise funds and awareness for Brainstrust, the brain cancer charity affiliated to Brain Tumour Research.

Many people will be travelling from across the country to join in the fun but Islanders are also welcome.

Over the weekend there are two fifteen-mile walks planned, as well as two much shorter walks for younger legs which will contribute towards the IBTA’s annual Walk Around the World for Brain Tumours.

Over the three days there’ll be live music, BBQs, a Beer Tent, swimming as well as a quiz/treasure hunt taking place on the Sunday, with a prize giving ceremony.
Local support for Vintage Vacations
Island-based, uber-chic Vintage Vacations are taking part in the event.

They’re offering a prize of a weekend in one of the fab Airstream trailers in return for just £2.50 raffle ticket (but hoping you’ll buy more than just the one).

All proceeds are going to the Brainstrust, so well done Helen and Fraser.

Update: You can now buy your raffle tickets online

Tickets
Registration for the entire weekend is just £25 per family (two adults and two children of 16 or under). Additional children are £5 per child. Otherwise registration is £10 per adult and £5 per child.

Registration covers brainstrust’s costs to organise the event, but does not include travel, subsistence or accommodation costs.
