Bob Seely and Boris Johnson

Bob Seely silent on support for Boris Johnson as Cabinet ministers resign (updated)

The latest scandal surrounding the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has resulted in both his Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak, and Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Sajid Javid resigning from the Cabinet.

After a string of scandals, Mr Javid warned the Government was no longer seen to be “competent in acting in the national interest”.

Does Seely still support PM?
News OnTheWight got in touch with Isle of Wight Conservative MP, Bob Seely, to ask whether his position of support for the PM had changed.

News OnTheWight asked,

With two of the most senior Ministers – the Chancellor and the Health Minister – resigning and others standing down – do you continue to support Boris Johnson?

Silence
That message was sent at 7.48pm on Tuesday evening, as at midday on Wednesday News OnTheWight had received no reply from the MP or his office.

Perhaps he was waiting to see what happens during today’s PM’s Question Time.

Seely eventually got back to News OnTheWight with his response. You can read it here.
