Boojum and Snark announces Hat Parade photographic exhibition, insightful Cypriot event and more

There are several events coming up at Sandown’s Boojum and Snark before the end of the year.

Make sure you pop the dates in your diaries and head to Boojums to take part.

Cyprus evening: A cultural insight
On Thursday, 30th November, from 6.30pm to 8pm, Boojum&Snark is hosting an intriguing Cyprus heritage evening. This unique event promises an engaging insight into the Cypriot culture and heritage.

Boojum’s own Tracy Mikich, along with Isle of Wight artist, Teresa Grimaldi, will share their enriching experiences from a recent Erasmus+ heritage skill working holiday in Cyprus.

The event is free and open to all, providing a wonderful opportunity for community members to explore and appreciate the rich heritage of Cyprus.

Photography and creativity: Hats off to Sandown
Moving on to another exciting event, Boojum and Snark invites you to the ‘Hats off to Sandown’ exhibit on 7th December from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

The exhibition will feature stunning photographs by Julian Winslow, capturing the essence of the Sandown Regatta Hat Parade. There’ll be a chance to mingle with the artists who played a pivotal role in the project.

Highlights include viewing some of the Gertrude Shilling showstoppers, co-created with the community this year. The event encourages a creative twist, inviting guests to don a hat themselves.

This free event is a perfect platform to celebrate local artistry and community collaboration.

Stoutmas: A celebration of winter beers
As the festive season approaches, Stoutmas returns to Boojum and Snark, marking a celebration of dark beers.

From Friday 15th December to Sunday 17th December, the venue will turn into a haven for beer enthusiasts, offering an array of dark beers.

Complementing the drinks, guests can try the hot mulled cider, ideal for the winter chill, along with cheese boards featuring Christmas chutney and crackers.

The festival culminates on Sunday with a quiz and storytelling session, making it a perfect blend of cultural and gastronomic delight.

Stoutmas is open daily from 12pm to 10pm, offering a unique way to enjoy the winter festivities.

Seating is subject to availability, so arriving early is advisable.
