Green Garlands Wreath making

Book now for return of the Green Garlands workshop taking place this December

In early December each year Ryde Arts organises a Christmas garland and wreath making workshop, hosted by our friends at Ryde Library.

Expert tuition is available throughout the day from florist and stylist Tanya Goodwin. In 2019, we welcomed over 100 of Ryde’s residents to the free event.

Last year, we were sadly unable to offer in person workshops but we ensured that Green Garlands lived on during the pandemic by offering garland-making kits and a how-to video for home assembly.

There are three ways to get involved with Green Garlands this year.

In person
We are running a morning (10am -12pm) and afternoon (1-3pm) workshop on Sunday 12th December at Ryde Library where you can make your own garland under the tuition of Tanya Goodwin of Wild Florist Wild.

Due to social distancing measures, attendance at either session must be booked in advance by contacting Ryde Library on 01983 823825. All resources will be provided at these sessions although please do bring your own secateurs or strong scissors if you have them, to cut foliage to size. Please note that spaces are limited to one garland per household.

At home
If you’d prefer to build your wreath in the comfort of your own home, we have 40 garland kits for sale at £15 each. Each kit includes everything you will need to build your own wreath and comes with a how-to flyer and a link to our how-to video.

All the kits are constructed by local florist and Green Garland tutor, Tanya Goodwin. Garland kits will be available for collection on Friday 10th December. To reserve a kit, please call Ryde Library on 01983 823825.

Flying solo
If you are oozing with creative flair or have access to everything you need to build your own garland this year, why not use our free How to make your own Green Garland video tutorial created by Tanya Goodwin and photographer Holly Jolliffe.
