Brading Roman Villa is among 130 cultural venues, museums and libraries across the country to share in a £127.8 million government funding boost.
Beating heart of our communities
The Isle of Wight attraction will receive £80,707 from the Arts Council England Arts Everywhere Fund, designed to ensure everyone can access arts and culture in their local communities.
Arts Council England Chair Sir Nicholas Serota said arts organisations, museums and libraries are “the beating heart of our communities”, adding the investment would help organisations “thrive and not just survive”.
Backing the places people care about
Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy said the fund backs “the places people care about most”, describing arts and culture as something for “everyone, everywhere” rather than “a luxury for a privileged few”.
Nearby venues also set to benefit
Nearby venues to benefit include Portsmouth New Theatre Royal, which will receive £450,000, and Turner Sims in Southampton, which will receive £350,000.
