Saturday morning saw the annual Bramble Cricket Match take place.
It’s a long-standing tradition that sees members of the Island Sailing Club play a cricket match against members of the Royal Southern Yacht Club (Hamble) on the Brambles Sandbar in the Solent.
Morris Men adventure
It’s been 14 years since the News OnTheWight team were lucky enough (thanks to Steve Baker) to be taken on hovercraft with 80+ Morris Men to Bramble Bank at low tide. It was quite an experience, so can understand how this event attracts many spectators (see the photos and videos here of the Morris Men adventure).
Each year the clubs take turns in who wins the match and 2023 saw the Island team take those honours.
