Over the would-be Beer and Buses weekend, and also coinciding with Hullaballoo Lite, Boojum and Snark are staging their Brewed in the Bay weekend – featuring beers they’ve brewed on-site using the electric BrewMagic Kit.
The selection will include:
- Boojum – British IPA featuring British hops and heritage malt
- Lacemaker Saison – packed full of coriander, pink peppercorns, star anise and ginger
- Dubbel Trouble – a dry Dubbel-style beer that has been fermented with barrel blocks and bourbon
- Candy Lager – a lager that features the addition of pineapple, think old-fashioned boiled pineapple cubes
- Bitter Secret – a pale ale made with kviek yeast and Nelson Sauvin, Victoria Secret hops
Hopefully, there should be a double dry-hopped IPA and craft ciders, including Grazed Knee.
Mikich: Exciting plans for the future
Tracy Mikich, co-founder of Boojum and Snark, said,
“Brewed in the Bay gives us a chance to showcase some of the range of beers we have been brewing over the last year.
“It has been a difficult task opening a craft beer taproom during a pandemic and we are extremely grateful to all our loyal supporters and visitors who have kept us going.
“We have exciting plans for the future and look forward to contributing to the regeneration of the Bay area.”
Logo artwork
The logo for the event was created by illustrator and printmaker, Katie Stone.
Katie’s work was spotted whilst she was doing an artist in residency in the window of The Department in Ryde over the summer.
Tracy added,
“It’s great that The Department are giving artists and makers a chance to gain High Street presence and increase awareness.
“We loved Katie Stone’s window installation and thought she would be pitch-perfect to create an image that captures the essence of our Brewed in the Bay event.
“The character is a Nudibranch, a sea slug that is common to the waters around the Island.”
