Six teams from the Cowes Cluster – Lanesend, Northwood, Holy Cross, Gurnard and Cowes Primary – took part in the Area Athletics this week, competing in 75m, 150m, 600m and relay events on the track and shotput, vortex and long jump on the field.
The teams were made up of Year 5 and Year 6 boys and girls.
Eight young leaders supported the event by collecting equipment, helping with the adult leaders taking scores to the table and greeting teams.
Points from all sections were added together which gave Lanesend Primary the overall victory.
There were some truly stand out performances, including Korey-Blake White’s 4m 30sm long jump!
