Ah, Bugsy Malone. It conjurs up memories of me raiding my Mum’s wardrobe, desperately searching for the fur wrap or feather boa to recreate the classic song ‘My Name is Tallulah’ in front of the hall mirror, whilst trying to balance in the high heels that were several sizes too big for me.
Well, your memories of the 70s classic can be relived this Easter, when the play by Alan Parker hits Medina Theatre. If you missed it first time round, Bugsy Malone is a gangster musical where all the gangsters are children (this time Island kids – including some from Ventnor). Instead of using bullets they use splurge guns and cover the victim with cream. The story tells the rise of Bugsy Malone and the battle for power between Fat Sam and Danny Dan.
If you fancy bouncing along to the old favourites such as Fat Sam’s Grand Slam or Show Business then I suggest you get your tickets pronto.
Showing on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th April at 7:30pm and Sunday 15th at 2.30pm.
