Burglars kick in front door of empty pub

The Mill Bay pub in Ventnor was broken some time into last night (Wednesday).

It’s one of several pub break-ins over the past few months on the Isle of Wight, the most recent being the former White Lion in Niton.

The break-in was discovered by Don Remnant whilst walking his dogs on the beach this morning at around 6.30am.

Not surprisingly, the thieves took several bottles of alcohol. Police confirm it was six bottles and that the fruit machines were damaged.

Evidence left behind
OnTheWight has heard that some evidence of the burglars was left behind.

The pub has been closed for several weeks and is about to have new tenants going in.
