Burst mains leads to no water for Isle of Wight residents

A burst water main in Wootton has resulted in residents in the PO32 area being without water today (Monday).

The incident was reported just before 4am this morning and Southern Water engineers have been on site repairing the burst.

Dry Ryde
On Sunday, several thousand residents in Ryde were without water for over eight hours due to a burst water main on Ashey Road.

Bottles of drinking water were made at Ashey Road and Osborne road, but apparently ran out.

Water was restored to most residents by 11pm.

Road closure
Island Roads advised that Ashey Road for a distance of 100 metres eather side of Rosemary Lane would be closed during the repair of the burst water main and consequential damage.

A diversion is in place which will affect Ashey Road, Upton Road, Carters Road.
