Funding is secure for this year and next, but with a £28m budget gap over the next three years, it's not yet known whether the council can continue to pump the DMO with tax payers' money.
After the former Conservative council voted to close all the Tourist Information centres on the Isle of Wight, the new council is working with Visit IW to support efforts to introduce Tourist Information Points across the Island.
