Busy agenda for Overview and Scrutiny Committee

Members of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee have a very busy agenda next week with over 15 items to consider.

They’ll be looking again at the report on the constitutional review that went to Full Council last week (see full report) as well as commenting on items that are due to be considered by the Cabinet on 8 October.

  • Update on children’s services improvement plan
  • Approval to enter into children’s residential care, special school and independent fostering contracts
  • Approval of the discretionary payments policy
  • Revised procurement strategy
  • Learning difficulties (LD) fees uplift report
  • Annual report Newport harbour and Ventnor Haven
  • Use of the former Classic Boat museum, Newport Harbour
  • Possible disposal/development strategy for Oak House, Newport
  • The possible disposal of the orchard and playing field at the former Gurnard Primary School
  • The possible disposal of the former Shorwell youth centre
  • The possible disposal of the former Cowes youth centre
  • The possible disposal of the former Brighstone library
