Busy Sunday For Ryde Inshore RescueRyde Inshore Rescue has had a busy 24 hours. Thursday evening, Solent Coastguard paged the crew to investigate reports of a small pram dinghy drifting off Ryde pier.

Ryde Rescue 1 was launched and discovered the dinghy to the west of the pier.

The dinghy had been separated from a vessel in Ryde harbour, and it was quickly returned to the grateful owner.

Friday lunchtime, Solent Coastguard requested that Ryde Rescue 1 be launched to assist three people on board a yacht which had run aground on the sandbank off Ryde.

Once on scene, one member of crew was put on board the casualty vessel, to ensure that the three people on board were not injured and that the yacht had not sustained any damage.

A tow rope was set up, and the vessel was towed to safer waters, and made her way back to her home port of Southsea Marina.
