Camp Bestival: Great Weather Forecast

If you’ve missed out on events because of the rain over the last couple of months, why not consider Camp Bestival at Lulworth next week. Bestival HQ remind us what’s on offer. Ed

Camp Bestival Kids:July is absolutely flying by and there are now only eight days to go until we hit the Jurassic Coast for a festi-holiday frolic at Camp Bestival.

Set is the picturesque grounds of Lulworth Castle, we’ve got an absolute cracker lined up for our fifth outing, but there are now just the last few remaining weekend tickets on-sale (and day tickets are flying too), so if you want to be part of the ultimate family festival in 2012, you’re going to have to seriously get your skates on.

Great weather forecast
First up, we can’t ignore the fact that this summer has had a distinct lack of sunshine but, joy of joys, the sun is about to get his hat on, hip hip hip hooray!

The current long range forecast from MetCheck, is looking good and Sky News are predicting “a sustained spell of dry and sunny weather from this weekend” – so pack your sombreros and head for the Dorset coast!

Hi de hi!
Rob da Bank said, “What can I say? Just over a week to go and I’m busy packing my spare pants, Silly Olympic sports gear and some records to play to the Camp Besti massive whilst eyeing the sky for signs of blue… and it’s there!

“I hope you’re all feeling as confident as I am about the whole shebang – we’ve worked hard on this one (like we do on all of them!) so I can’t wait to open the gates next Thursday and get you happy campers settled in. Hi de hi!”

What to expect
And now, let’s get down to some fun stuff. This coming Saturday, the Camp Bestival crew will be broadcasting a live warm-up show for the International Radio Festival (IRF) on their pop-up Olympic radio DAB.

It’s the only dedicated independent Olympic radio station broadcasting during the games and we’ll be kicking things off on the 21st July with an A-Z of all things Camp B and a live session from the one and only Cuban Brothers who will be whetting appetites for the main event in their own inimitable style. You can find out lots more info here.

Fun Kids Radio
Speaking of radio action, we’re very pleased that Fun Kids Radio will be joining us this year.

They’ll have a preview show running in the lead up to Camp Bestival and then they’ll be broadcasting from site, so make sure you tune in for lots of fun and games.

Silly Olympics
We promised you Silly Olympics and it doesn’t get much sillier than this! Right before we screen the big ol’ opening ceremony, we’re throwing a Camp Bestival Camp Olympics Warm-Up Bash and you’re all invited!

Hosted by the dapper king of chap-hop, Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer, you’ll be treated to Britain’s Got Talent drop outs Heart and Soul, mega moves from dance troupe Swing Patrol and top tunes from the Medina Uke Orchestra. Plus Lost & Found will lead you in a Best of British 80’s Aerobic Dance Off and there’s a sing-along for all you champions out there. Union jacks at the ready… this is going to be a belter of a bash!

Messy music
If you like getting messy with music at a festival, you’ll be pleased to hear that the Persil ‘Mosh & Wash’ stand will be on hand with singer-songwriter and musical mum, Sophie Ellis Bextor.

Kids will be able to dress up as their favourite rock star and get a taste of what it would be like to perform at Camp Bestival with the special ‘Mosh & Wash’ stage, complete with a live festival backdrop!

Remember, the clock is ticking, so grab your tickets while you still can!
