Those lovely festival people over at Bestival HQ have just let us in on the latest confirmations of acts and wonderful goodies they have in store for us at Camp Bestival this year.
First up, we have to tell you about the amazing folk supergroup The Imagined Village.
Apparently Rob saw them play last year and was so over whelmed that he was in tears after the third song – ooh you big softy Rob!
The Imagined Village is the brainchild of Simon Emmerson, he of jazz/soul outfit Working Week fame. Clearly a man who knows what he’s doing – he’s pulled together a plethora of renowned musicians to all perform together on one stage.
At Camp Bestival their performance will feature the likes of Billy Bragg, Martin Carthy, Eliza Carthy, Sheila Chandra and Chris Wood backed by a band featuring Simon Emmerson, Johnny Kalsi, Francis Hylton, Andy Gangadeen, Sheema Mukherjee and Barney Morse Brown.
Not only that, but poet extraordinare, Benjamin Zephaniah and John Copper will appear on screen bringing the oral tradition of story-telling into the digital age.
We’ll be bringing you more info soon about other acts confirmed for what’s set to be a superb festival in the south coast of Dorset this July.
