Caroline Gladwin removed as Reform UK councillor after internal investigation findings

Isle of Wight Council member Caroline Gladwin is no longer a Reform UK councillor, the party revealed this afternoon (4th February 2026).

In an extraordinary turn of events, a Reform UK spokesperson told the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) that Councillor Gladwin has had the whip removed after an internal investigation.

They said,

“Following an internal investigation, which revealed information that had not previously been disclosed to the party, Reform UK has removed the whip from Councillor Caroline Gladwin.”

She now sits as an independent councillor. The LDRS has asked Reform UK to confirm Councillor Gladwin’s current membership status.

Property ownership made public
Reform UK’s announcement comes after seven of her rental properties were today made public, following a decision by County Hall’s monitoring officer.

It followed her reluctance to publicly reveal her interests, until she was told by the council’s monitoring officer that she had until 31st January to do so.

She claims there has been a hate campaign against her.

Councillor Gladwin has been contacted for comment.
