The Police are warning cat owners in East Cowes to be vigilant.
A cat has been shot with an air rifle in the Meadow Road area. Police have walked around the area putting letters through the doors to forewarn neighbours.
Previous shooting
The pellet broke the leg of the cat, needing it to undergo an operation to pin it back together again, leaving the cat’s owner with a hefty vet bill.
This isn’t the first time this cat has been shot. Last year it was shot through the throat.
Police are asking for other East Cowes cat owners to get in touch with them, if their cats have also been shot at.
Isle of Wight RSPCA
The Isle of Wight RSPCA said “If you are a cat owner in this area, please remain vigilant and keep a close eye on your cats!”
