CCTV released following the theft of a handbag in Newport

Police have released CCTV images of two women they would like to speak to in connection with the theft of a handbag in Newport, Isle of Wight.

CCTV image 1:The incident occurred between 1.45pm and 2.45pm on Wednesday, April 10 at MacDonald’s restaurant in High Street, Newport.

The victim, a 44-year-old woman had left her handbag on a seat close to the main counter and forgot it when she left the restaurant.

She returned a short while later to discover it was no longer there and reported it to the staff.
Officers investigating the case would like to hear from anyone who can identify the two women pictured in the CCTV as they believe they may be able to assist with enquiries.
