After Covid cancelled their plans in 2020 and changed the format by splitting the day into two in 2021, Ventnor Exchange’s record store is looking forward to the full return of Record Store Day (RSD) next Saturday (23rd April 2022).
Ventnor Exchange is the official RSD outlet on the Isle of Wight, and have been enthusiastic participants of the event ever since the store opened in 2014. This year also marks RSD’s 15th Anniversary, this worldwide phenomenon has been one the driving forces behind the vinyl revival that started in 2007.
Record Store Day is all about celebrating music!
For the 15th RSD event there will, of course, be all the exciting special vinyl releases – see the Record Store Day Website for list of releases. Ventnor Exchange will have a list of what they managed to get hold of on their Website nearer the time.
As well as the return of a full lineup of music, including some of the young DJs from Brave Island hitting the decks with Ed Eldridge to show off their skills.
There will also be a special edition of Reggie’s Play’s Pop Quiz in the evening and an exhibition of album covers which anyone can contribute to.
Music lineup
Live music in the shop is back and this time we have teamed up with music promoter Ears Peeled and some of the artists they have been working with to showcase new music from the IW.
They will also be selling their music and merch so make sure you snap it up to support the local music scene.
Artists performing include Froglands PK, Cara Goodrem, Romy Helen, Ulysses Wells, Sunday Soul, KafTan, Ed Eldridge + Brave Island DJ’s and DJ Gary C. Full schedule with times on the Website.
Reggie’s Play’s Pop Quiz
Test your musical knowledge for a cash prize! For this year we will be joined by Reggie’s Retro and EEL Productions, who have teamed up to launch a very special Reggie’s Plays Pop Quiz for people of all ages to enter, no matter your taste, the more recent stuff to the oldies, there’s something for you.
So, quickly gather your team of four or less because the Quiz will begin at 7pm. And it’s only £1 to enter!

COVER TO COVER
Featured in our store’s gallery space, the Ventnor Exchange and Art Vinyl present COVER TO COVER, an exhibition of people’s favourite album covers and their own covers that they have designed and created themselves based on existing artists and albums, all of which will be displayed in Art Vinyl frames.
All submissions will be accepted from Tuesday 19th April in our store and all album covers will be carefully cherished and returned once the exhibition is over.

Where and when
Ventnor Exchange will be open from 9am. Records cannot be reserved and will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
