Vectis Radio announces the finalists for their very first Community Awards.
Vectis Radio is pleased to announce the list of finalists for their very first community awards ceremony to be held on Friday 31st March at The Riverside Centre in Newport from 6.30pm.
The High Sheriff, Kay Marriott, is presenting the awards in nine categories.
The finalists, chosen by an independent panel of judges, are (in alphabetical order):

From this list of organisations and individuals a selection of lucky winners will receive Gold, Silver, or Bronze awards showing their commitment and service in supporting the community on the Isle of Wight.
Mac: Quantity and quality overwhelming
Vectis Radio Station Manager, Ian Mac, said,
“The sheer quantity and quality of the applications for our first Community Awards has been overwhelming.
“The panel of judges had a hard time selecting the winners, and whilst not everyone from this list of finalists will be a winner, just being on the list from such a large number of entries should be regarded as an award in itself.
“I don’t know who’s won what yet, so I am excited to find out on the evening.”
Currie: Shining a light
Event Organiser, Maggie Currie, said,
“Vectis Radio supports the community in many ways and we thought it was about time we shone a light on other organisations and individuals that also put in so much work and time to support the community of this island with such commitment and energy.
“My thanks go to our panel of independent judges who had a real job sorting through all the high-quality applications.”
She continued,
“We wanted to hold a ceremony that did honour to all those who are finalists, but also wanted it to be affordable and comfortable. That’s why we’ve kept the price as low as we can and ask that you come dressed however you feel comfortable. Smartcasual or glam, it’s your call.”

Numbers are limited so please just two per finalist to start with. If there are any spaces left, these will be advertised nearer the date. Book early to avoid disappointment.
