Today marks the release of the long-awaited fourth album by Isle of Wight brothers, Michael and David Champion, aka CHAMPS.
Described as a unique combination of cool minimalism and evocative Americana, Ride the Morning Glass (released on BMG), is studded with radio-friendly songs that capture the imagination with cinematic vistas and colourful characters open to a dozen interpretations.
Analogue nerds
Packed with a bumper 13 tracks, the album was produced by James Thorpe at Red Squirrel Studios in Ventnor, which still features some ‘museum piece’ equipment, such as a Russian synth which can be heard playing in reverse on the sixth track on the album, Adeleine.
Mike said,
“It was a musical free-for-all. We have always been analogue nerds and now we are finally about to indulge it.”
