Eight-year-old Charlie is due to finish his 112-kilometre run around the Island’s coastal path in Yarmouth this Thursday (20th August 2026) at around 3pm, having tackled the full circuit across eight days in four stages throughout the summer holidays.
He has run every kilometre of the challenge himself without walking any part of the route, tackling the Island’s hills and heat while raising money for the RNLI.
His mum, Emma, told OnTheWight,
“Charlie has refused to walk any part of the route running every kilometre himself, tackling the Island’s hills and heatwave with grit and good humour.
“We have been blown away by the kindness of Islanders throughout this challenge from kind words to car lifts and donations to Charlie’s charity, the RNLI.”
Local support fuels the effort
Islanders have supported the challenge with donations, lifts and words of encouragement throughout the summer.
The journey has been documented on an Instagram account, where supporters can follow his progress towards Thursday’s finish line.
The finish line holds particular significance for Charlie as he completes his circuit, coming full circle clockwise around the Island.
