Another week and another fundraising effort by an Islander to highlight. Christine Ward has been in touch to share details of her fundraising plans for this year. Ed
I have recently decided to join Wave105 on their charity trek along the Inca trail in Peru to help raise money for Cash For Kids.
I have always enjoyed walking and doing things for charity and when I heard this on the radio I was interested straight away.
Once I heard it’s taking place to raise money for the charity, Cash For Kids, I just had to sign up.
As a new mother I thought this would be a brilliant charity to support as Cash For Kids is committed to supporting deprived children under the age of 18 within the Wave105 region.
26 miles and 4,200 metres high
The trek take place over five days, although this is only 26 miles long, I will be climbing 4,200 metres high. This will be the biggest challenge I have ever done, although leaving my son at the airport will be a challenge in itself.
I hope you can support me along my way and help children across the south, I am hoping to raise £3,500.
Support Christine’s charity trek.
