The Isle of Wight Newport branch of national retailer, Marks & Spencer, continued a Christmas Eve tradition yesterday of donating excess flowers to local charity.
Local author and poet Broc Silva has collected a trolley full of the flowers for several years and delivered them to the Accident and Emergency department.
A gift for staff working through the night
Broc explained,
“It’s lovely to offer something beautiful for the staff, who work through the night as usual.”
He added,
“I think they’re all magnificent and deserve all the best of everything.”
