Christmas sale and raffle in Bembridge to raise funds for hospice and dementia care

Last updated:

Bembridge Village Hall will be transformed into a festive marketplace on Friday 5th December, as local fundraiser Jo Macaulay, with the support of Lady Grylls and friends, hosts a Christmas Bring and Buy Sale in aid of Mountbatten Isle of Wight and the Dementia UK Admiral Nurses (Isle of Wight) Appeal.

The event will run from 10am to 4pm, welcoming visitors to browse an array of stalls laden with Christmas gift ideas, homemade treats, vintage treasures, designer items, festive bakes, and much more. Entry is free, with voluntary donations encouraged to support the two Island charities.

Don’t miss the raffle
There will also be a Christmas raffle with items donated by stallholders and other supporters, which will take place at 3.30pm, and may be drawn by a well-known personality.

Raffle tickets will be sold throughout the day, with all proceeds shared between the two beneficiary charities.

Supporting two essential Island charities
Funds raised will support Mountbatten Hospice, providing end-of-life care and support for Island families and the Dementia UK Admiral Nurses (IW) Appeal, helping bring specialist dementia nursing support to people in their own homes on the Isle of Wight.

Lady Grylls said,

“This is a lovely opportunity for the community to come together, support two incredible local causes, and enjoy a festive day out.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to Bembridge Village Hall – whether you’re selling, buying, or simply soaking up the Christmas atmosphere.”

If you have any raffle prizes to donate, please do bring them along on the day. None of us are untouched by Dementia and all of us will know someone who has needed the services of our wonderful hospice, Mountbatten.
