Council leader David Pugh said the following on Isle of Wight Radio today when discussing the possible closure of nine of the Island’s eleven libraries with Ventnor Cllr David George :
“We have to move beyond the narrow expectation that we must endlessly employ staff, directly, by the local authority in all these locations, to sustain Isle of Wight council-run libraries.”
