Colourful seating created for children’s ward by Cowes Men’s Shed

The outside play area at St Mary’s Children’s Ward has received a recent boost with the assistance of Storeroom2010’s Cowes Men’s Shed.

The Shed were approached with a view to helping the Children’s Ward revive their outside area.

The Shed’s Project Leader explained,

“We were delighted to be approached and were more than happy to get creative to put a smile on the faces of the children and their parents/carers.

“Although we tend not to take on projects for private individuals, so as not to undercut local tradespeople, we always do what we can to help other Island charities and good causes who reach out to us.”

Davies: Can’t thank the Shed enough
Play specialist leader, Dionne Davies thanked Cowes Men’s Shed for transforming the seating, adding,

“They look wonderful now with their bright glossy paint and the colours are just perfect for our outside play area!

“The children and families will have somewhere great to sit in the sunshine – I’m sure it will help a lot of children feel better to be able to sit outside!

“We can’t thank the Shed enough – they’ve done an amazing job!”
