The presentation evening for the Crime & Intrigue Short Story Writing Competition 2012 took place last night at Newport Minster.
Excited writers and their families gathered at the venue to hear whether their entry had impressed the judges sufficiently.
And the winners are …
Congratulations to everyone who took part, but particularly to the winners announced last night.
Andrew Preskey is the winner of the Adult category with his story ‘Identity Theft’.
Eloise Preston (from Christ the King College) is the Under 18s Winner for her story ‘A Desperate Crime’.
Clare Duddigan (from Bembridge C of E School) is the winner of the Under 12s competition for her story ‘A Murder with a Knot’ (read short story).
VB will be publishing all three winning entries over the next few days, so keep your eyes peeled!
Support from The BritWriters Awards 2012 Unpublished
Carol Bridgestock told VB that The BritWriters Awards 2012 Unpublished were kind enough to sponsor the Adult first prize money and the Under 18s Prize money (£75 & £50).
They have also invited the winners of these two categories to their award ceremony in London in November along with the Adult winners partner and the Under 18s family (ticket for two adults and two under 18s).
Should be an exciting experience for all involved.
Money raised will be going to IW Homeless, Youth Carers and Carisbrooke Priory.
