Ventnor Angling Soceity 22Hr Open: The ResultsOver £2,500 was raised last weekend in aid of help for heroes when 153 anglers fished the 22Hr open charity match hosted by Ventnor angling and social club.

Richard Smith was top rod receiving a £300 prize donated by Two Counties Care for his mixed bag of 57lb 11oz.

Smith also picked up £100 for the best specimen with a Whiting of 2lb 4oz and the pairs prize of a bucket of booze with Bill Barnaby on a combined weight of 86lb 5-1/2oz.

Michael Wyatt won £150 for his second place weight of 45lb 1-1/2oz and Liam smith had first pick of the prize table with his third place weight of 34lb 15oz.

The £50 first junior prize went to Jack Miller on 5lb 14-1/2oz donated by Shaun Graham and Chris Bennett won the £50 ladies prize with 5lb 1/2oz donated by Contract Distribution Services.

James Davis picked up the best Bass prize donated by Scotties with a fish of 8lb 5-1/2oz and Kevin Basham won £100 for the heaviest fish with a Cod of 13lb 14oz. With the prizes donated by local businesses and individuals over 45 competitors received a prize.

The committee would like to thank all who donated prizes, Ventnor Football Club and the scales team who weighed in 78 people in awful weather.
