King Charles with Corries Cabin in the background

Corries Cabin’s 20-year milestone: A kingly tribute and generous charity donation

Last updated:

Cowes fish and chip shop, Corries Cabin, were delighted to hear the King had chosen the 20th anniversary of owners Richard and Leah taking over as owners, they decided to give the days profits to charity.

Leah with a smile,

“We didn’t want him to make such a national fuss of our 20th anniversary, but we couldn’t really say no.”

“Corrie’nation”
The shop held a “Corrie’nation” on Saturday (6th May 2023).

Richard added,

“A year and nine days after taking on the shop, we had a fire that gutted the place, we were closed for six weeks.

“The response from the community was incredible, without them, we may not have made it to 20 years, so we like to make sure we can give back when we can.”

No takers for a free sausage
Despite the weather it was a busy day, though no one took up the offer of a free sausage if they came dressed as King Charles.

£1,000 was donated to charity, split equally between the IW Foodbank and Pan Together.
